Kobina Ansah is the CEO and Co-Founder of ModernLend, winner of the BBVA Open Talent 2015 Fintech competition, as well as the Wired Money 2016 Startup Stage. Born in Canada, and raised in a Ghanaian household, Ansah’s international background compelled him to start a business committed to serving the financial needs of international citizens living in the U.S. These creditworthy individuals are often overlooked by traditional lenders, due to their lack of U.S. FICO score (credit score), which has been primarily relied upon by U.S. banking institutions for over 30 years. In line with the mission of the K(NO)W Identity Conference to defragment and redefine the future of identity, ModernLend hopes to disrupt the U.S. financial services industry, and push it towards being an inclusive and accessible environment, that serves the needs of all deserving international citizens that are valuable members of the general U.S. population. Previously a Relation Manager at Wells Fargo, Ansah underwrote over a billion dollars in specialty lending credit facilities, and pursued an MBA at The Wharton School where he graduated with honors. He currently works with his team in their mid-town Manhattan office, providing creditworthy global citizens with access to credit.
