Mary Haskett is the co-founder and CEO of Blink Identity, an Austin, Texas based company specializing in facial recognition technology that identifies people at a full walking speed, providing next generation access control for a wide variety of industries. Blink recently received $1.5M seed round funding from Sinai Ventures, Live Nation, and other entertainment industry investors. Haskett drives the business strategy of Blink Identity, and manages the day-to-day operations of the company.
Haskett has extensive experience in the international security and defense industry, developing embedded simulation-based training for the Advanced Tomahawk Weapon Control System (ATWCS). A founder of HCI Training, Inc., Haskett managed development and deployment of training programs for Dell, Sybase, and USAA, as well as the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. After acquisition by Ideal Innovations, Inc. in 2007, Haskett continued as Vice President of Software and Training, leading integration teams that provided comprehensive biometric solutions to both U.S. and foreign governments. Under her leadership, the first satellite office of I-3 (based in Washington DC ) grew from 4 people to 20 people with a project budget of $15M. Deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan on a number of occasions, she was responsible for deploying the National Afghanistan biometric database system.
Using a set of innovative web-based tools to foster online collaboration, Haskett was a pioneer in the virtual office space, and managed projects and million dollar profits in a highly competitive industry. Nominated as one of the Austin Business Journal’s Profiles to Watch in tech-savvy Austin, Texas, Haskett has also served on the boards of directors of the Association of Internet Professionals (AIP) and the International Interactive Communication Society (IICS).
Her first startup experience was a skydiving school, bootstrapped into a profitable business that operated three airplanes, taught thousands of students how to skydive and hosted regional skydiving competitions.
Haskett holds a M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics awarded by the University of Texas at Dallas.
